OSTEOPATHIC MANIPULATIVE TREATMENT (OMT)

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), also referred to as Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), is a non-invasive, hands-on technique used to diagnose and treat illness and injury. It is unique to the osteopathic medical curriculum and is the component of medical education that differs osteopathic medical education from allopathic medical education. OMT involves the manual diagnosis of structural dysfunctions related to illness and injury, and manipulating the musculoskeletal system to its proper position in order to restore functionality and remove impediments to healing.
